Utilizing Earth's Systems

The Earth Home design works in tandem with the surrounding earth, sun, and water provided by mother Earth. It simply takes considerate integration! Take a look at the sensibility behind the science!

The Water System

Perhaps our most precious resource on Earth is water, but you wouldn't know that if you paid attention to how much of it we waste. The Earth Home counteracts this waste, effectively maximizing each drop of water, while minimizing excessive use. Not only does the Earth Home use 75%less water than conventional housing, but it does so while sustaining a continual food supply!

The Water System

The collected rainwater is filtered then stored in cisterns near the back of the house. It is then        organized by a WOM, or water organizing module and pumped into the house for use first in the showers and sinks.

After being used in the showers and sinks, the water is sent through botanical cells throughout your home. This water is rich with nutrients and great for plants. The plants drink and filter the water.

After leaving the botanical cells around the home, the water is sent to the toilets. This is the final resting place of the water before it is sent outside of the home.

Thermal Mass Heating

The heating system is directly dependant upon solar exposure. The full windowed greenhouse at the front of the home is angled in a way that maximizes sunlight during the wintertime, and minimizes the sunlight in the summertime.

Known as passive thermal mass , the Earth, Tire, Can, and Cement structure absorbes heat from the sun, and gives it off at night. During the summer, coolness of the sorounding Earth cools the inside of the home as the angled windows prevent excessive sunlight.
